Black Canon QL17

November 11, 2016 by Paul Lovell

Introduced in 1969 and produced until 1972.

This is the black version of the same camera I reviewed before of the chrome QL17.  Other than looking fantastic in black (and yes I have make no secret of the fact that I think most cameras look better in black), this is functionally the same camera as the chrome QL17 and from what I can tell mostly the same as the QL17 GIII.

My Take:

The QL17/GIII have a big fan base and I can understand why. The more of the competitors that I have used, the more I understand the love for the QL17. I agree this is a great camera. The QL17/GIII and the Minolta Hi-Matic 7sII are both contenders for my top spot. I have zero reservation suggesting this camera to anyone of any skill level. And more good news is the non-GIII are cheaper. Only issue is the PX625 battery.

Film: FujiColor 100
